the event details you enter as a host — title, date/time, location, host name, timezone, and notes.

the items you list as needed — name, category, quantity needed, and notes (allergy or dietary details you mention go in these free-text notes, not a separate field).

guest claims — a guest's name, how much of an item they're bringing, notes, and an optional email if you want a reminder sent closer to the event.

showing you, the host, what's covered and what's still needed, letting guests see and update their own claim, and sending an optional reminder email if a guest left one.

sell your data, run ads against it, or share guest details with anyone outside the event.

in a private, access-controlled postgres database. there's no public listing — each event's pages use a separate, long, unguessable link, so access is controlled by having that link, not an account check. no ads, trackers, or analytics scripts on event pages.

if you open an event from homebase, your homebase account email is shown in that session's page header only — potluck planner doesn't store it.

remove an item or a claim any time from the event's admin page, or archive the whole event once it's over. email me if you want something gone for good.
